1. Who is Sheikh Abdul Rahman As Sudais?
Sheikh Abdul Rahman As Sudais was born on 10 February 1960, and is from the Anazzah clan. Looking back at his educational background, Sheikh As Sudais started his journey at a very young age. He went to the Al Muthana Bin Harith Elementary School and completed his first Qur’anic memorization at the age of 12 years old.
Sheikh As Sudais graduated from Riyadh Scientific Institution in 1979 and holds a degree in Sharia from Riyadh University, in Saudi Arabia. His credibility as a Chief of Imam is further supported by having a Master’s in Islamic fundamentals from the Sharia College of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University and a Ph.D. in Islamic Sharia from Umm al-Qura University. 2. Sheikh As Sudais is a World-Renowned Imam
At the age of 22 years old, Sheikh As Sudais was given the honor to be appointed as the Imam of Masjidil Haram, in 1984. He then delivered his first sermon in July 1984, after the appointment.

Since then, Sheikh As Sudais has led many Tarawih prayers at Masjidil Haram, touching the hearts of the congregants with the verses of the Quran that he had memorized by heart.
When leading Tarawih prayers, he frequently had Sheikh Suad Al Shuraim as his partner. The pair is fondly known as the ‘Twins of the Haram’.

3. President of the General Presidency for Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques
In 2012, Sheikh As Sudais assumed the esteemed position as the President of the General Presidency for Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, overseeing the management of Masjidil Haram in Makkah and Masjid Nabawi in Madinah. His exemplary leadership led to his reappointment in 2016, continuing his dedicated service to these sacred places.

4. Witnessing Individuals Reverting to Islam
Sheikh As Sudais had the privilege of witnessing not just one, but two heartwarming instances of individuals embracing Islam. In both cases, he warmly welcomed them with compassion and generosity.
The recent event happened in 2020 where an American tourist, named Steve visited Saudi Arabia for leisure. During his trip, he decided to embrace Islam and took his shahada in the presence of Sheikh As Sudais. The new revert was deeply touched by the kind treatment he received, as Sheikh As Sudais gifted him with ZamZam water, traditional Arabic coffee, and other thoughtful presents. These acts exemplify the benevolence and open-heartedness of Sheikh As Sudais towards reverts, beautifully showcasing the essence of Islam through such considerate gestures.
